Donna Brown’s voice has been described as “shimmering”, “luminous”, and “gemlike in its brilliance”. Donna has graced the stages of Paris, London, Tokyo, Berlin, Vienna, Rome, Sao Paulo, Caracas, Tel Aviv, and Toronto, performing a repertoire ranging from opera and chamber music to contemporary and even alternative music. She has sung with leading orchestras and opera houses of the world, under such conductors as Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Helmuth Rilling, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Bernard Haitink, Kent Nagano, Daniel Barenboim, Kurt Masur, and Carlo Maria Giulini. She has worked on the opera stage with directors John Copley, Robert Wilson, Peter Brook, Jonathan Miller, and Pier Luigi Pizzi, amongst others. Ms. Brown teaches voice at the Conservatoire de Musique de Montréal. She has also been a visiting professor at the Yonsei University in Seoul, the Fundación Schola Cantorum de Caracas and the Bachakademie in Santiago de Compostela. She continues to give masterclasses in Europe and Canada.
